An Australian man who jumped across a fence and reached for celebrity Ariana Grande has been sent away and barred from Singapore.

The individual, twenty-six, was sentenced to nine days in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told local media.

Wen pushed past photographers and approached aggressively the actress and singer, who was present at the regional launch for the musical adaptation on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

The individual has a record of interrupting performances and celebrity events, including leaping onto the platform at the pop star's Australian show in this summer.

The occurrence caused anger in Singapore, with numerous people saying he of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The pop star has mentioned suffering from PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at her show in the UK city in May 2017 took the lives of over twenty people and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the film's premiere twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Security staff prevented him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted videos expressing gratitude to the star for allowing his presence and said he was "free."

Authorities arrested him the following day and brought charges against him with disorderly conduct, to which he confessed.

The Court Judge Christopher Goh was referenced by media reports as remarking that he was looking for publicity, adding that he was wrong to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

The actress has not addressed the situation.

The co-star mentioned the incident to NBC, stating that she "just wanted to ensure my friend was safe."

"I believe he didn't intend us harm, but you never know with those things, and I aimed to make sure that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she said.
