Netflix Selects Ideal Star for Bentham in One Piece Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the next season, and a cherished, popular member has just been cast.
Netflix announced Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bentham. This character possesses the power to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that character reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, as in the source material and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside several other fresh additions who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, such as leader Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of Alabasta.
Although the role is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. With the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this represents a significant shift in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate more adjustments to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the part. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is set to return for its second season on March 10, 2026.
