Trump Welcomes Families of Attacked Guard Personnel to White House
Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the White House.
He noted that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.
Information on the Tragic Shooting
US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.
Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.
Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their memory.
Presidential Offer
The president said he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Attendees assembled over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.
Both they had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to aid law enforcement in DC.
Remembering Sarah Beckstrom
“Sarah was the individual that instructors wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the principal of her former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”
Memorial plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.
Judicial Measures and Policy Revisions
Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.
The tragedy prompted the administration to suspend asylum processing and halt granting visas to possessors of Afghan passports.
Condition of the Airman
Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.
He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.
The state’s top lawyer Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit his relatives.
Memory of the Fallen Soldier
Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, according to the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” he addressed the gathering at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
